Big PET Scan energy

I had my first interim PET scan and the results were pretty freakin’ fantastic. I wore my #TheBTeam💚 swag, bracelet stack and some Team CMSD heart sunnies, because why not?

You have to go on a 24 hour high protein/low carb diet prior to your scan and fast for 6 hours pre-scan. And despite having a port, I have to get poked for a peripheral IV for the radioactive contrast (are you singing 🎵 Radioactive? I certainly am.) and then it gets removed. It’s 2026 people, there isn’t a better way? After you get contrast, you wait an hour before you get put in the scanner for about 20 minutes.

This one was vastly improved over the last one as the pain I had back in January is long resolved and I can tolerate lying flat. The worst part at this point is that you’re basically stuck being slid in and out of the scanner and it’s pretty boring.

The whole experience was worth it just to get those stellar results, though.
