Hump Day

Last week I was supposed to have my interim PET scan. It got cancelled the day before due to the insurance authorization not being completed in time. I spun out for a minute and then remembered my nurse navigator at the oncologist’s office, so I put in a call to her and put her on the case. By Monday morning I was on the phone with her and the hospital to schedule for this week.

Today I lived my best retired life and went for a pedicure in the morning (I wore a mask) and this afternoon I had a follow up with Dr. N. Every chemo cycle it seems like I unlock a new not so fun side effect. After cycle 3, I unlocked joint pain and now in cycle 4, I have unlocked hot flashes. It’s difficult to know if the last one is related to chemo or potentially due to perimenopause.

That’s the fun thing about having cancer as a female in your 40’s you get to play a fun game: are my symptoms because I have (insert disease here) or because I am in perimenopause? 😂

Friday I’m off for my interim PET scan so I’ll update after I get the results.

Love,
